Canvass is a SaaS platform owned and operated by Codexist Labs, registered in the Republic of South Africa. The platform is accessible at canvass.co.za and associated subdomains.
Canvass enables users to search for local businesses with no website, generate AI-powered websites for those businesses, produce personalised outreach materials, and access pricing strategy recommendations.
You must be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information at registration.
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in ZAR via PayFast. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable. Annual subscriptions cancelled within 14 days are eligible for a pro-rated refund. Price changes will be communicated with at least 30 days notice.
The Canvass platform — including its source code, architecture, AI prompting systems, generation logic, user interface, and branding — is the exclusive intellectual property of Codexist Labs. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership interest in the platform itself.
HTML websites and pitch materials generated through the platform are yours to use with your clients. The underlying generation methodology remains the sole property of Canvass.
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, create competing products using knowledge gained from Canvass, sublicense platform access, remove attribution on Free tier output, use the platform to train AI models, or scrape data by automated means.
You agree not to use Canvass to harass or send unsolicited bulk communications, misrepresent your identity, generate fraudulent or defamatory content, attempt unauthorised access, violate South African law (including the Consumer Protection Act, ECT Act, or POPIA), or interfere with the platform.
The platform integrates Google Places API, OpenRouter.ai, PayFast, Clerk, and Supabase. We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of these services.
The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, exhaustive search results, specific business outcomes from AI-generated content, or complete accuracy of AI output.
To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, Canvass and Codexist Labs shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the three months preceding the event, or R500, whichever is greater.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of South African courts. We encourage informal resolution before formal dispute — contact support@canvass.co.za first.
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email with at least 14 days notice before taking effect.
